It was with deep and heartfelt sadness that we learned of the passing of former Holy Cross teacher Mr. Albert Woods last night, surrounded by his family after a long and brave battle with cancer.

Mr. Woods was very much loved and respected by staff, students and parents of Scoil na Croise Naofa and will be greatly missed. Mr. Woods joined Holy Cross Boys’ as a teacher in 1985, having previously taught in Limerick. He taught across all class levels and roles, until his retirement in 2014.

Today, we are fondly remembering  Albert, as his former colleagues here in the school, and his many retired colleagues are sharing their fond memories. Past pupils have also contacted the school with lovely kind words and tributes to Mr Woods.

We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Albert’s wife, Caroline and his children, Niall, Ailbhe and Darragh, as well as his siblings, wider family, colleagues and friends.
